Welcome to the
Virtual Book Tour & Kindle Giveaway!
The Legend of the Firewalker
By Steve Bevil
YA Paranormal Fantasy / Action Adventure

About The Legend of the Firewalker

A black hooded figure suddenly appeared behind her. She gasped and her brown eyes grew wide. Nathan watched helplessly as a small trickle of blood fell from her mouth.
Other hooded figures appeared; their silver swords clutched upright against their chests. Nathan held tight to her lifeless body while trying to fight back the tears that swelled in his eyes. “No,” he cried. “No!”
Nineteen-year-old Nathan Urye is supposed to be having a relaxing summer as a camp counselor but ever since he started having nightmares about a beautiful girl being hunted by flesh-clawing monsters, his life has been anything but normal.
Soon, Nathan discovers that the sleepy college town of Cahokia Falls is far from ordinary when two unexplained deaths rock the town and campus. Who or what is behind the murders? Does it have anything to do with the newly-discovered cave symbol? And what about the spine-chilling campfire stories about ancient tribal beliefs and mystical legends?
For Nathan Urye, things just keep getting creepier and creepier, and now it appears that everyone at camp is in danger…

Author Bio

Steve Bevil, the author of The Legend of the Firewalker series, recalls vividly as a child running to the library to check-out and read the latest The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books. He started writing short stories at a young age, but never took writing seriously, and as an adult, would only write to jot down the many storylines and mystical characters he would often fantasize in his head.
It wasn't until he was inspired by the story of author Stephanie Meyer, a stay-at-home mother of three and Christopher Paolini, the author of the Inheritance Cycle, that he entertained the idea of writing a book. Steve recalls sitting at his computer one day, after reading promotional emails announcing the latest books, daydreaming a dialogue between two people.
"It was just so Harry Potter-esque as far as the classic story of good versus evil. I just kept getting more and more detail; it was like the story wanted to be written, there were so many layers to it. I had first and last names, character back history, and everything. Immediately, I started writing."
After months and months of developing the plot and writing, the end result was his first book in the series, The Legend of the Firewalker. The daydream, a dialogue between two of the main characters; Nathan Urye and Stephen Malick, ended up appearing in Chapters 11 and 16.
Steve Bevil graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Master's degree in Communication. He is a native of Chicago, Illinois and when he isn't writing, enjoys music, watching movies, fitness, and walks with his little Westie, Wyatt.

Unmaking Marchant by Ella James_ebooksm
A LOVE INC. NOVEL
COMING WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2013

About Unmaking Marchant

Marchant Radcliffe, owner of the exclusive Love Inc. brothel outside Vegas, is no stranger to darkness. He lost his sister in childhood and his parents in college. Since his best friend helped him finance the Love Inc. ranch almost ten years ago, Marchant has drowned himself in business—and he’s thrived, despite the heavy secret that has plagued him since his parents’ deaths.

Then, after ten years of good fortune, Marchant’s skeletons start to peek out of the closet, tossing him down a trail of ruin that begins with arson and could end with murder. Because he’s kept his struggles private, he has no one to pull him back from the brink.

  Except for Suri Dalton.

After a breakup with her longtime fiancĂ©, Suri, the daughter of one of Silicon Valley’s tech tycoons, has nowhere to go except her BFF’s new penthouse in Las Vegas. The last thing Suri is looking for is a man, but after drowning her woes in wine on the flight over, she stumbles into a torrid make out session with a beautiful stranger—who just so happens to be Marchant Radcliffe, a playboy and a literal pimp.

Despite an immediate attraction, Suri writes Marchant off as exactly the sort of guy she should avoid. Until Love Inc. goes up in flames, Marchant winds up at the bottom of a swimming pool, and Suri is the only one around to pull him out.

What happens when what you see isn’t what you get? What do you do when destiny is too alluring to resist and too dangerous to survive?

It was simple, fun, and exactly what Mia liked best – no strings attached.

Then Chase decided to change the rules and Mia did what she’s always done best: she ran.

Now she’s on her way to Los Angeles to help Nicole get ready for her wedding to Zack. The one thing she’s not looking forward to is seeing Chase again. With his sculpted muscles, strong hands and dark gray eyes that seem to know everything she’s thinking – Chase has the ability to make her forget. He also has the power to make her feel, something Mia refuses to let happen.

When everything around Mia’s life begins to crumble, and she keeps all of her secrets tucked close and hidden away, Chase is the one who steps in to help.

Because he has decided that he isn’t letting her go again. Not until she finally admits she’s his.

About the Author

Stacey Lynn left her workplace in a cube farm at an insurance company, as soon as her first child was born and has never once looked back.

Years – and four kids later – she rediscovered her love of reading in an effort to find a brief escape from the mountains of laundry, dust balls, and dishes. Reading turned into her daydreaming, and soon…an idea was born. Once the story became loud enough that she couldn’t ignore it any longer, she put down her Kindle (briefly!) and began her work on Just One Song.

Stacey loves hearing from readers.

Without further ado, please welcome author Philip Johnsey!

Find Your Voice by Author Philip Johnsey

Hi Stephanie, thank you for the opportunity to share a guest post. As soon as I read it was author’s choice, I knew exactly what I wanted to share.

It’s a common occurrence for people to say “I’d love to write, wish I could write like you”. Their eyes are full of delayed hope they think will never come. It’s like someone with very little resources staring at an expensive, exotic car and saying “if only I had money”……
I always encourage them by saying “you can write, get published and even more, as you”. They always respond that “they’re not good enough”, “they can’t” and the usual mantras that we all tell ourselves that keeps us from moving forward.
Looking back at how I got started in writing, I remember those same thoughts; those same mantras.  I initially had success with one article that I didn’t put much thought into. I just wrote from the heart and what came to me.
That was fun, but I really wanted to improve my skills further so I took several different writing classes. However, I began to notice a pattern after the classes.  I’d attempt to change my style, my delivery to be more like the people and genres I studied.
Soon, I had trouble writing a simple paragraph, let alone an article. Every time I sat down, it was an ordeal. I wouldn’t use my voice, I wanted to be like the success stories I studied. My voice was pushed to the corner; it’s not good enough, the world won’t accept it, etc. In an attempt to become better, I gave up my style, my voice.
One day, I scrapped all of that and just wrote what I felt and what a relief!! I literally felt free, like I’d been let out of a cage. It felt so good to just write and not worry about being like someone else. Sure, I incorporated all the writing tips from the classes I took, but I used them with my voice.
Whenever someone talks about being a writer, I share my story and encourage them to find their own voice. Writing is a creative craft; a place where one expresses themselves, their soul, their voice. We can’t all write the same; if we did it’ll all be pretty darn boring.
So if you dream of writing, or anything else for that matter, find your voice, tune it, and share it gladly. The world can always use something refreshing and new. The world needs YOUR voice….

About Climb that Fence and Take that Leap

Edmund blasts across the yard against my calls to come in. He gleely runs off and I chase him across the grass only to find a unique butterfly or a sky filled with stars. As soon as I stop and admire, Edmund promptly comes to my side and rubs against me.

Do you ever wonder if there is more to your pet's behavior than meets the eye?  Sometimes their antics are more than just random behavior.  Can we learn something about ourselves by watching them?

I believe so and Climb that Fence take that Leap is a compilation of personal, inspirational animal stories and the life lessons I gleaned from them.

After enjoying these stories, hopefully you'll enjoy more quality time with your furry friend and know what it takes to Climb that Fence and Take that Leap!

GIVEAWAY & Book Blast: Strings of Glass, by Emily Kimelman

Welcome to the Book Blast & Giveaway for
Strings of Glass
A Sidney Rye Novel, #4
by Emily Kimelman

About Strings of Glass

STRINGS OF GLASS is the fourth novel in Emily Kimelman's Sydney Rye Series of dark murder mystery novels. This series features a strong female protagonist and her rescue dog, Blue. It is recommended for the 18+ who enjoy some violence, don't mind dirty language, and are up for a dash of sex. Not to mention an awesome, rollicking good mystery!

Sydney Rye is hanging out in India with her boyfriend, Dan, reading paperbacks and sipping beer. No violence and no reminders of her past. But when she and Blue, are attacked by a pact of wild dogs, Sydney starts to feel that old itch again; to do good by being bad.

Trouble finds Rye when she stops the attempted rape and murder of Anita, a reporter working on a story of corruption and human trafficking. The atrocities Anita describes send Sydney, Blue and Dan on a quest that takes them across India after a dangerous and, up until now, untouchable, figure. While Sydney struggles to accept her true nature she realizes that it is the only way to end decades of abuse and exploitation. But Rye fears that she will lose herself, becoming no better than the monster she fights against.

Excerpt

I'd been warned about this pack. Growing larger by the day, it was led by an aggressive alpha male the color of dirty water. This must be him, I thought, as the largest of the three, his head wide, fur the muddy brown of an engorged river, growled at Blue. The compactness of his body spoke of strength and survival. When he barked the saliva that shot from his mouth caught a ray of sunlight streaming through the thick foliage around us.

Muddy Water stepped forward, revving his growl like a teenager on a motorbike. The bitch in the brush flanked our left side and when I turned right, two young dogs, their ears still soft from puppyhood, glowered at me.

The owner of the guest house where I lived warned me to take a stick if I planned on running. "Just in case," she'd said with a dip of her head and a flip of her hand. Because of her advice I carried a light but solid piece of bamboo about twice the thickness of my thumb. I tapped it on the ground in front of me as I backed toward Blue, keeping my eyes forward, focused on the alpha but paying close attention to my peripheral vision, watching the dogs to my sides.

When I reached Blue he moved backwards with me, slowly and deliberately. But the dogs started to follow with us. We stopped, and raising the stick over my head, I brought it down hard onto a rock. The loud sound and sudden movement spooked the pups to my right but the alpha male just growled louder.

The two dogs flanking Muddy Waters went crazy barking, the force of their calls lifting their front paws off the ground. The mother and the young ones joined in raising a ruckus that certainly beat mine. Blue, his front paws planted on the road, exposed his teeth and growled, his pitch wavering up and down. He wanted me to tell him it was OK to attack. I could feel his energy bundling up inside him, roiling around, soon I'd have no control.

About A Song for Sophie

A Song for Sophie by Mackenzie Crowne

Jobless, practically homeless, and tired of being manless, Sophie Taylor jumps at the chance to be Beaumont Walker’s personal assistant. Six weeks on the road with country music’s bad boy—and, more importantly, his all-male crew—is the perfect opportunity to change her life.

Beau Walker doesn’t need any more distractions. Sophie, with her butt-ugly suits and balls-to-the-wall attitude, shouldn’t be one, but she proves to be distracting and more—even, surprisingly, a friend. So when he discovers her plan to snag a man from his worldly wise crew, he’s determined to protect her from herself.

A Song for Sophie is available at:

{Excerpt}

“Sophie, I’d like you to meet my mother, Savanna Beaumont. Ladies, this is Sophie.”

That’s it? No explanation for her intrusion into their luncheon date. No qualifying her position as an employee. She considered kicking him under the table. Running interference indeed. Hah! As if any of these stunning women would consider her presence at the table any kind of competition for Beau’s attention.

She did her best to ignore the arm he slung over the back of her chair and smiled at his mother. “Miss Beaumont. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m a big fan.”

Savanna’s bemused gaze flicked to Beau, before her eyes cleared. She returned Sophie’s smile. “It’s always lovely to meet a fan. How do you know my Beau?”

His fingers tugged a gentle warning on her braid, and he spoke before she could answer.

“She’s from Cholla Springs, Savanna. A history teacher at the high school.”

Sophie sent him a sidelong glance. “Actually, I was a teacher in Cholla Springs.” She jumped when his booted foot connected with her ankle. Oh, no he didn’t! She didn’t look his way, simply kicked him back, hard, and was pleased at his muffled grunt. “But,” she continued, “because of recent budget cuts, I’ve recently taken a new position.”

She turned to him then, thinning her lips and narrowing her eyes in a scowl designed to let him know he was going to owe her—and owe her big.

About the Author- Mackenzie Crowne

I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother (a really young one). My husband and I were blessed with two rambunctious little boys who we managed to raise into wonderful men without any disfiguring mishaps. Dirt bikes and ESPN are the order around our house, and life at the 'Testosterone Ranch' more closely resembles one of today's wacky reality shows, than yesterday's 'Leave It To Beaver'.

I'm one of eight kids, raised just north of Boston. I moved to Phoenix as an adult because living in the southwest feeds my soul. My childhood was a free-for-all, chock full of laughter, love, family and friends. I was raised on the concept that a stranger is just one conversation away from being a friend and I'm happy to say, that experience remains true today.

My love of books, specifically the romance genre, has been a lifelong affair, both as a reader and a writer. A bout with breast cancer sharpened my resolve to see my stories shared with others. Today, I am a five-year survivor, living my dream.

My friends call me Mac. I hope you will too.
