About Return to Audubon Springs

Return to Audubon Springs by RoseAnn DeFranco
When Emma Grant returns to her family's Audubon Springs beach house to fulfill the stipulations of her father's will, she has every intention of forcing her former lover out of the house for good. She's never fit into her wealthy family and would prefer avoiding her past, but with her brother threatening to reveal her young daughter, she has no choice.

Rafe Iuliano has other plans. The wealthy Grants tried to bribe him out of Emma's life years ago, but he's determined to prove once and for all that a master carpenter is worthy of Emma and the house.

Their ridiculous and steamy battle for the house reignites the love and passion that bloomed between them years ago. But when Rafe discovers she's kept their daughter a secret for two years, can he overcome anger and pride to claim his family and the love of his life, or will the deception drive a final wedge between them?

Excerpt

“This is your fault!” Emma shouted.

“My fault?” Rafe blinked through the thick coat of flour. “You’re the one who started this.”

“Me?”

“Yeah, you—Miss Macrobiotic Princess!” They used the barstools for support, and pulled themselves up from the slippery floor. “You’re immovable just like your mother.”

“And you’ve got about as much depth as a toenail. For the life of me, I can’t remember why I was ever with you.”

With a predatory look in his eyes and gait, Rafe advanced. In two long strides he pinned her to the counter, his hands grasping her hips. “Don’t!” His voice, low and dangerous, and his near proximity overwhelmed, charging her body with a jolt of electricity rendering breathing impossible. His gaze locked on hers for an eternity, then without warning, he dipped his head and licked lavishly at the syrup on her chest and neck.

Need and heat consumed her at his touch, fraying what was left of her nerves. She dropped her head back, shivered, and her knees buckled. He held her steady, fully pinned against the counter and continued to feast on her neck. Then with a shake as if waking from a dream, he stepped away, taking his heat with him.

Emma swayed and gripped the counter. Goose bumps rose on her flesh at the storm brewing in his eyes.

“Say or do anything you want to push me out of this house, but don’t ever say you don’t remember.”

Excerpt Tour & Giveaway: Selkie's Song By Clare Austin

Welcome to the
Excerpt Tour & Giveaway for
Selkie's Song
By Clare Austin
Book #3 in the Fado Trilogy

About Selkie's Song

They call her Selkie. Muireann O'Malley often felt she was born of the sea but refuses to let sentimentality stand in the way of her crusade to protect the shore she has wandered since a small child. A patch of West Clare, Ireland, and a derelict building are all that stand between the cliffs she loves and the callous grip of progress.

Tynan Sloane should be content with success, but a dream beckons. O'Fallon's Pub in historic downtown Boston is for sale and Tynan wants to make it his. An unexpected inheritance of land in the west of Ireland could provide the financing he needs. He doesn't expect his quick trip to sell the land to rekindle youthful passion.

Fifteen years ago, they had an adolescent crush. Now disparate ambition and a legend as old as Ireland herself stand between them. Will love and myth collide to bring them together or tear them apart?

At a large corner table with bench seats, a tall,

grey-haired crag of a man sat tuning his guitar. Across
the way sat a fiddler with fingers so stubby, if Ty hadn’t
known others like him, he would have wondered how
those hands could coax milk from a cow let alone a
tune from a violin. Simon O’Flaherty, like a man
wrestling an octopus, fitted together the puzzling mass
of tubes and reeds of uilleann pipes.

Soon jigs and reels flowed one into another. More
musicians came and the crowd grew to stretch the
walls. Ty regretted having given up his seat. He leaned
a hip on a barstool and sipped the remains of his pint.
“Can I get you another?” The publican reached for
his glass to refill it.

Ty knew he should wave him off, claiming he’d
had his limit, but he felt a need to fit in here, soak up
the camaraderie, feel his roots. “A whiskey. Thanks.”
He studied the room. Cait was looking fine, and he
wondered if he had drunk her pretty over the last hours.

Fishermen, their faces ruddied by the wind and the sea,
talked of the catch, the price of salmon, the weather.
Farmers chewed over the breeding of sheep or cows
and if the rain would come or go to make a good
harvest.

Snatches of gossip—whose land was for sale, high
taxes, would Connaught beat Wicklow, who’d been
seen walking out with whom. And everyone, it seemed,
had a comment on the front page of today’s newspaper.
“Feeney was madder than a bag of cats…It’s
throwing apples into an orchard to try to reason with
him…Give Turlough’s girl some credit…Ah, now,
what she needs is a husband and a house full of babies
and she’ll forget about her seals…” Each one had his or
her solution to the problems of the village, if not the
world.

Clare lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and enjoys her horses, playing her violin, and traveling to Ireland every summer.

Visions Excerpt

The child began screaming; a scream that made your blood run cold. Her mother instantly tried to placate her, eventually smothering her mouth when those attempts failed. That only intensified the screaming, agitating the girl more.

The gunman flew into a rage, demanding the girl be silenced before he silenced her. His hand twitched in fury. Could he honestly harm a child? I wondered, as fear crashed over me. The interminable screaming shrilled through the bank as the girl thrashed in her mother’s arms. My skin tingled, the air electrified with trepidation.

The gunman pointed the weapon directly at the child, narrowing his eyes. A growl erupted from his throat as his feeble control shattered and his finger pulled back the trigger.

There was no time left to decide, to think. There was only time to act. Instinctively, I jumped in front of the young girl as I heard the deafening crack of the gun being fired.

I jumped so violently that I awoke, drenched in sweat.

GUEST POST: My Writing Inspiration by Author Charlotte Pearson- Mummy Fever Book Tour

Guest Post: My Writing Inspiration

By Author Charlotte Pearson

My Writing Inspiration

My three lovely children are my writing inspiration – I starting writing my book as means of documenting some of the funny things they did, or said and the adventures we had along the way. Time passes so quickly and if you blink you feel as if you have missed something sometimes. My children have also been my reason to stay strong, even when I didn’t feel as if I could be at times. One smile, or giggle or funny comment from them and I already felt better! That innocence is really powerful.

I think I was also inspired to write my book because I felt as if there is so much about parenting that we aren’t told. People around us tend to sugar coat it, and for some people I imagine that is quite a dangerous thing. I know someone who had a child before me and she had this perfect image in her head of what it would be like, how she would feel, what the baby would be like and so on- the reality was VERY different from that and she struggled from day one. He child is now eight and she has only just managed to pick herself up and move forwards.

Parenting is hard – babies don’t come with a manual.

I hope my book reveals the truth about some of this – the funny, the emotional, the embarrassing and the truly wonderful aspects of parenting.

My Writing Style

I’d say my writing style is casual. It won’t be what everyone wants to read but it was how I wanted to write. One of the reviews I have had said “I felt as if the writer was telling me her story over a glass of wine” – that was my favourite review because that is exactly how I wanted it to come across. That was most certainly my intention.

Mummy Fever

Mission Accomplished is written in the form of diary entries and by writing in a casual, diary-like style I was more able to convey certain feelings. Love, joy, worry, anger, fear, despair – as well as hint that in many cases there was more to be said that couldn’t be written down.

About Mummy Fever by Charlotte Pearson

Title: Mummy Fever (Mission Accomplished)
Author: Charlotte Pearson
Genre: Contemporary

It was the best of times … It was the worst of times ... 'Mummy Fever: Mission Accomplished' is a determinedly honest blow-by-blow account of young motherhood that will remind you why you vowed never to have a second child, and why you probably broke that vow two years later. Discover how to open a door gracefully to a perfect stranger half-naked and covered head-to-toe in ... well, never mind, how to grow eight arms, how to fend off the hapless and intrusive advice of your rampaging mother-in-law, how to run a marathon only a few months after you have given birth, and how to deal with an inattentive husband who isn't planning on changing his life at all. But, above all, remind yourself that young motherhood is a time of enchantment, despite the very real challenges, and a love story, at least towards the children.
